Two events on August 28, 2010 captured the attention of each of the communities.  On the east side -- 4110 E. New York Street, children walked with the parents or neighbors to see what was happening at the nearby church.  They had been visited, they had received invitations to the community picnic with games, good and fellowship opportunities.

On the west side -- 5701 W. 34th Street at Northwest UMC, there were teams set up with games, snacks, food, and displays of healthy foods.  Music and dancing was included in the day's festivities. 

These events are opportunities of reaching the unchurched in these neighborhoods.  Both sites will launch their worship services October 10, 2010.
