Rodney Frieden Bio

“How you live your faith matters” is a constant mantra of Pastor Rodney. He believes that mission service is a way for us to demonstrate God’s love in the world. He lives the mantra by being personally involved with Pack Away Hunger and Mission Guatemala.  He also helped spearhead the creation of the Wayne County Food Council to address hunger issues while serving at Hagerstown United Methodist Church.

He currently serves as the Senior Pastor for Epworth United Methodist in Indianapolis.  Pastor Rodney has the unique distinction of having served in appointment in the only two churches he has ever been a member (Castleton and Epworth).

Before serving in ministry, Rodney was a business owner, retail buyer, and marketing developer.  He is a graduate of Purdue University and Southwestern Seminary.  He is an avid sports fan and loves to play golf.  He and his wife, Sherry, have two adult children (Phillip and Riley) and two grandchildren, but their dog (Breesy) somehow occupies most of their time.
