M. Bert Kite (Bert) became district superintendent of the Indianapolis West District July 1, 2009 following seven years as senior pastor of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Carmel. Previous appointments include Lawrence and Southport churches in Indianapolis, Epworth church in Newburgh and Sellersburg church.

Bert holds degrees from Indiana University and the Methodist Theological School in Ohio.  He is certified through the International Conference of Police Chaplains. 

Bert is married to Debbie.  They have four children and one grandchild.  Bert's personal mission statement is "To live with passion that celebrates the joy ofbeing a follower of Jesus Christ, and freely inviting others to live in the joy of the Kingdom of God."
