Douglas Simpson became Executive Director of Metro Ministries, Inc. on July 1, 2007 following seven years as pastor of Fairview UMC in Bloomington District. His previous appointments include Asbury UMC and Faith UMC in Indianapolis, Wesley UMC in Jeffersonville, Indiana as well as appointments in Michigan and Minnesota. Douglas has also served on the Council on Ministries for the South Indiana Conference.

Douglas received his Bachelor of Arts degree from American University, his Master of Divinity degree from Evangelical Theological Seminary (now Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary), and his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Newburg Theological Seminary. He has also earned membership as a Pastoral Care Specialist with American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Douglas has one son, Ethan, who is currently a college student.
