Reasons to Give
In 1923 the organization now known as Metro Ministries, Inc. was charged with focusing attention, energies and monies on local mission projects. The corporation was formed for the purpose of using closed or abandoned churches in the district and using the funds for developing new churches, developing new arising ministries and make special grants and requests that aid in building churches and expanding existing programs. In 2009 when the two Indiana conferences were formed into one Indiana Conference, the policies were changed where closed or abandoned church funds no longer were given to Metro Ministries. A very generous bequest was received from the Kresge family in 1968.This endowment has been used the past 49 years to provide support for new church starts, assist churches in adapting their programs to their altered environments, to support and promote mission work within the United Methodist Church districts. Financially sustainable funds are used annually to provide support for the administration of the organization. Read More
