What We Do
Welcome to Metro Ministries, Inc.

Metro Ministries, Inc. - working in conjunction with the Central District Center, its member congregations, lay and clergy leaders - connects resources to ministries and ministries to resources for the cause of Christ.

Metro Ministries, Inc. is the outreach arm of the Central District, The United Methodist Church and connects with 109 United Methodist Churches in Marion, Hancock, Hendricks, Shelby, Morgan and Johnson Counties. While connecting with the 109 United Methodist Churches, we connect, resource, support and partner with community ministries and non profits serving our communities. Our focus is on connecting resources to ministries and ministries to resources throughout Central Indiana.

As we connect, resource, support and partner together, we are sharing models of outreach, stories of building communities, and serving youth and children through our Metro Monday Connection enewlsetter.

Metro Ministries connects resources:

  • Grant criteria -- Leadership Development, Risk Taking Mission and Engaging with the Poor
  • Convening Community Ministry leaders together with a common goal
  • Building and strengthening relationships with United Methodist Churches -- clergy and laity
  • Advocating for and with local community ministries and sharing stories


Church Building in Martindale-Brightwood To be Razed -- Programs Continue

Demolition to begin May 14, 2018

 For over 48 years the church building located at 2410 N. Station Street, Indianapolis 46218 has served as the former St. Paul United Methodist Church and the home of Brightwood Community Center. Now due to structural issues, Metro Ministries, Inc., the owner of the building and land, is having the building torn down – but the ministries continue in new locations!

 The St. Paul United Methodist Church congregation merged with Forest Manor United Methodist Church in 2017 and is now known as Miracles and Blessings United Methodist Church, located at 34th Street & Forest Manor Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46218.

 Brightwood Community Center moved to the Washington Park Family Center, 3130 E. 30th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46218 in 2017 and continues to serve children and families with after-school and summer enrichment programming. Their Summer Enrichment Camp registration is held at Washington Park Family Center, 3130 E. 30th Street, Indianapolis, IN, June 25-July 20, 2018, 8 am-4:30 pm (cost $150 first child, $50 each additional child in the family); registration is now open!  As part of its commitment to the ongoing and future needs of Brightwood Community Center, the Metro Ministries, Inc. Board of Directors is working with the Brightwood Community Center Board of Directors to explore future use of the land located at 2410 N. Station Street.  We invite interested partners to help discern future use and processes by contacting Brightwood Community Center director Metro Ministries, Inc. is the mission arm of the United Methodist Church in Central Indiana that connects resources to ministries.
